Garlic Food Poisoning

It is possible to get food poisoning from garlic. The main hazard is homemade garlic-flavored oil if the garlic is contaminated with Clostridium botulinum spores. This is responsible for Botulism, an illness that attacks the body's nerves, leading to difficulty breathing, and muscle paralysis.

Ate one slice pepperoni and garlic bread. Worker put the slice into the oven to “reheat” it since it had been sitting for a minute. This was the only thing eaten all day. Today is Monday and my ribs hurt from vomiting so hard. Still felt shakey and sweaty. Tonight I'm pretty ok. But that was the absolute worst food poisoning I've had in years. Never eating Papa Johns again. I should have been warned by the clueless employees who struggled with my husband's coupon and the manager that came out and didn't listen or care. This place is the worst Papa John's I've ever eaten at. I mean, it's consistently wrong but this is the first time it felt like it was trying to kill me.
