Mayonnaise can be a source of food poisoning. Due to its high-fat content, when not stored properly, mayonnaise can become an ideal environment for bacteria, like Listeria, to grow. Listeria can be especially harmful to pregnant women, people over the age of 65, and those with weakened immune systems.

foil, very hot. As background, temperature in Belize was 30C and very muggy. Ate the delicious sandwich at the airport about 3 hours later. Got home and went to bed. About 8 hours later, and for the next 3 hours, I stated to vomit and had diarrhea. I couldn’t hold water and got extremely dehydrated.
Surprisingly, I had no abdominal cramps or pain.
Doctor said the culprit was MAYO! Sandwiches containing mayo should be eaten within two hours if left at room temperature. Definitely much sooner at 30C Belizean temperatures. Bacteria starts to grow very fast and that was the culprit.
I got sick about 8 hours after eating sandwich made with mayo.  | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting, Dehydration

wet texture to it, like it wasnt cooked/fried long enough before it was served. Had night sweats and nausea for a few days after eating, then on 3/3 started having abdominal cramps, rumbling, and diarrhea. The McChicken is the only recent thing in memory that I've eaten that nobody else in my family did, and only I'm sick currently. Also haven't attended any big gatherings recently, so it's unlikely (but still possible ig) to be anything viral. For 2 straight hours I burped and had small amounts of burning acid like vomit come up. I eventually had to get up and vomit. I took more heartburn medicine and tried to go to sleep. I fought throughout the night and into the morning with hot acid like vomit in my throat. My husband started feeling sick in the middle of the night and also had to vomit. We both had to vomit a second time this afternoon. We feel weak and nauseated all day today with diarrhea occasionally. He had a cold cut combo with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepper jack cheese and honey mustard on white bread. I had a BMT with mayo, lettuce, pepper jack cheese on white bread.
