Mustard Food Poisoning

It is possible to get food poisoning from mustard. In 2015 a Canadian brand of mustard was recalled due to Clostridium botulinum contamination. Clostridium botulinum thrives in an acidic environment and an infection is often characterized by blurred vision and stomach cramping.

manager started making the sub he put the meat & cheese on the sub & gave it to male employee. The employee put lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, mayo & mustard on it, wraped the sandwich, placed it in a bag and my wife paid for it. Food preparers did not have gloves on. We went home to have dinner we both my wife & I ate half of the sub I started to fell nauseas after eating a little more than half of it went to the bathroom violently vomiting three minutes later my wife was doing the same thing, I then had serious Diarrhea as my wife followed with the same symptoms it was bad I was going to go to St Mary's hospital but the Diarrhea slowed but my wife's symptoms was getting worst. We both took Mytanla to help with the symptoms. I started feeling better after 30 minutes or so, but it is now 4;20 am Arizona time my wife's has eased some but she is still sick with Nausea and stomach pain if she does not get better soon, we will go to the hospital. an allergy or severe sensitivity to fish (anchovy) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.  This recall only impacts Publix Deli Carolina-Style Mustard BBQ Sauce with the use by date of April 08, 2024. This product was sold at Publix stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virgina. To date, there have been no reported cases of illness.

meal I felt like I was getting overly full. I felt very uncomfortable for the rest of the day. Then towards the end of the night I started getting really gassy. At first it was normal, then it turned into really long farts (sorry don’t know how else to phrase it). It then went to long and smelly ones. I then noticed that my burps were smelling like rotten eggs. I felt very nauseous too. That night I had horrible diarrhea and painful. I thought it would be over after that night. I’ve still had this issue for the past 3 days. Not as bad as the first day, but still having issues.

UPDATE: I’m still having issues and my doctors have confirmed it is food poisoning. Testing to see what it is now. We’re thinking it’s Salmonella. I have a feeling that it is the peas or the self-serve side salad. There were others that ate the meatballs and did not get sick. The peas and salad are the only things that I ate and no one else did. I will NEVER eat at IKEA again!
